Terms of Use
This is an agreement between you and MUSA Limited, a private company, on the use of the MUSA app and the musa.kz website. It is a public offer. By signing in to an account or using the app, you accept this agreement in full. By accepting it on the sign-in screen, you also consent to the processing of your personal data under the Privacy Policy.
01Definitions
- MUSA, we: MUSA Limited, a private company, BIN 240240900508, an AIFC participant.
- App: the MUSA mobile app for iOS and Android.
- User, you: a person who uses the app or the website.
- Account: your user account in the app.
- MUSA Hafiz subscription: paid access to extended features of the Hifz section.
- Store: the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google).
02Who can use the app
Anyone can use the app. If you are under 18, you may accept this agreement and subscribe only with the consent of a parent or legal representative.
One account is for one person. You are responsible for providing accurate information and for activity in your account. If you think someone else is using your account, write to us.
03Account
Quran, Learning, Zikr & Dua, Names of Allah and prayer times work without signing in. To keep your progress on all your devices, take part in leagues, and use the Academy and the subscription, you need an account: sign in with your phone number, Apple or Google.
04What is free
The following are available for free: Quran, Learning, Zikr & Dua, Names of Allah, prayer times, and the Academy description and free lesson. In Hifz, free use has a daily limit on new ayahs and tests; review is unlimited.
We keep developing the app, so we may add, change and remove features. If a change affects a paid subscription, we will tell you in advance.
05MUSA Hafiz subscription
What is included. The subscription removes the daily limit on new ayahs and tests in Hifz and unlocks additional test formats. What the subscription includes is shown on the purchase screen.
Price and payment. The price, currency and period of the subscription are shown in the app before you pay. Payment is taken by the store under its own rules from your store account. MUSA does not receive your card details.
Trial period. If the store offers a trial period, its length is shown before you subscribe. If you do not cancel the subscription before the trial period ends, the store will charge you for the first period.
Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment for the new period is charged within the 24 hours before it starts.
Cancellation. You can cancel the subscription at any time in the store: on iPhone, in Settings, tap your name, then “Subscriptions”; on Android, in Google Play, tap the profile icon, “Payments & subscriptions”, then “Subscriptions”. The subscription keeps working until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its own rules: by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, by Google through Google Play. MUSA has no access to store payments, so we cannot refund money ourselves, but we will help you with your request.
Access from an organization. If an organization gave you access to MUSA Hafiz, the period and terms of that access are set by the agreement between MUSA and that organization.
06Academy
Courses in the Academy section are run by MUSA's partner, the MyUstaz by Malika Ustaz academy. The academy gives you access to a course after you share your profile with it. Payment for courses, if any, takes place outside the app on the academy's terms.
The voice recordings you send are received by your teacher. Recordings and teacher replies are kept for 365 days. Classes with a teacher take place in the Zoom app under its rules. The academy is responsible for the content of the lessons and the teachers' replies, and MUSA is responsible for how the app works.
07Texts and sources
The Arabic text of the Quran follows the Mushaf in the Hafs reading. Translations of the meanings, tafsir, recitations, and the texts of adhkar and duas belong to their authors and rights holders and are used with the source credited. A translation conveys the meaning but does not replace the Arabic text.
Calligraphy of the Names of Allah: by Hadysylmy, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, modified. All other content of the app and the website, including design, illustrations, texts and code, belongs to MUSA Limited. It may not be copied or distributed without our permission, except where the law allows it.
08Your content
Your name, profile photo, league image and voice recordings remain yours. You grant MUSA a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to store them and display them in the app to the extent needed for features to work: in your profile, league rankings and the Academy. This right ends when you delete the content or your account.
Do not upload anything you do not have the rights to, or anything that breaks the law or insults others.
09Rules of conduct
When using the app, you may not:
- pretend to be another person or use an offensive name, photo or league name;
- interfere with the operation of the app, or try to access other people's accounts or our servers;
- decompile the app or bulk-download its content using automated tools;
- use the app for unlawful purposes.
If you break these rules, we may restrict your access to features or block your account. Unless the violation is a breach of the law that requires immediate action, we will warn you first.
10Liability
We work to keep the app running without failures and its content accurate. Prayer times are calculated from coordinates and may differ from your local mosque's schedule by a few minutes. The qibla direction depends on the accuracy of your device's compass. If in doubt, check the local schedule and consult people of knowledge.
To the extent permitted by law, MUSA is not liable for indirect losses or lost profits related to the use of the app.
Nothing in this agreement limits the rights you have under consumer protection law.
11Terms for Apple devices
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, the following also applies:
- this agreement is between you and MUSA, not Apple, and MUSA alone is responsible for the app and its content;
- you receive a non-exclusive right to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules, including through Family Sharing;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligations;
- MUSA, not Apple, handles any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not comply with the law, and consumer protection claims;
- if a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, MUSA, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and settling that claim;
- you confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that the U.S. Government has designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of parties with whom transactions are prohibited;
- when using the app, you must comply with the third-party terms, such as those of your mobile carrier;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and have the right to enforce it against you.
Send any questions and claims about the app to MUSA using the details in the “Company details and contacts” section.
12Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time: Profile, “Settings”, “My details”, “Delete account”. What happens to your data when you delete your account is described in the Privacy Policy.
13Changes to this agreement
We may change this agreement. The new version takes effect from the date shown at the top. We will notify you of significant changes in advance through the app. If you keep using the app after the changes, you accept the new version.
14Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We first try to resolve disputes through correspondence: write to account@musa.kz, and we will reply within 10 business days. If we cannot reach an agreement, the dispute will be heard by a court of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the manner established by law, including at the consumer's place of residence where the law grants that right.
